What are dental fillings?
A dental filling is the process of returning a damaged tooth back to its former shape and strength. When part of your tooth begins to decay, the overall integrity of your tooth weakens. Dental fillings are meant to replace the decayed or damaged portion of your tooth for a healthier tooth that maintains its original shape.
Dental fillings fill and close open spaces where bacteria would otherwise be able to enter, which stops current decay and prevents future decay. Cavities form a hole in your tooth that cannot repair itself. These holes can be treated with dental fillings. To begin a dental filling procedure, Dr. Classi will first remove the decayed or damaged parts of the tooth and leave only healthy parts of the tooth. Then, Dr. Classi will thoroughly cleanse the treatment area. To complete your dental filling procedure, Dr. Classi will fill the area with metal-free dental filling material.

What dental fillings do you offer?
At the dental office of Dr. Classi, we are proud to offer the strongest, most natural-looking ceramic fillings. Ceramic fillings, also commonly referred to as white fillings, are tooth-colored fillings that provide seamless, natural-looking results for an even, white smile. In most cases of tooth decay, a simple white filling can be used to replace decay or cavities. If a patient exhibits excessive tooth decay or damage to a tooth, a dental crown or dental cap may be suggested for the most pleasing results. If tooth decay has reached the internal nerve, root canal surgery is suggested to correct the damages.
Why are white dental fillings better than traditional dental fillings?
Our dental office is a metal-free dental center that uses only ceramic dental fillings. Traditional dental fillings are made out of metal and can cause a discolored smile. The metallic hue of the dental filling can even cause the gums to blacken. At Classi Smiles, we use metal-free dental fillings for a more natural-looking smile.
Dr. Classi can remove and replace metal fillings with natural-looking white fillings for a brighter smile. Traditional dental fillings contain mercury, which can be harmful to your body. Dr. Classi is a mercury free dentist in NYC who offers white ceramic fillings for a natural-looking, white smile.
Can Dr. Classi replace metal fillings with tooth-colored fillings?
Yes, Dr. Classi offers to remove metal fillings and replace them with white fillings for more aesthetically pleasing results. We are a metal-free dental practice that only offers natural-looking ceramic fillings for a beautiful smile.
What can I expect from a tooth-colored dental filling procedure?
The damaged portion of your tooth will be removed during a dental filling procedure. Dr. Classi will thoroughly cleanse the bacteria out of the remaining tooth and prepare it to receive a dental filling. Once your tooth has been properly cleaned, Dr. Classi will insert ceramic filling material into the tooth. After your dental filling treatment, your tooth will be healthy, strong, and regain its previous integrity and shape. Teeth with fillings will function as normal, healthy teeth.
Are ceramic fillings natural-looking?
Ceramic fillings are natural-looking white fillings that do not cause any discoloration in your gum line or smile. White fillings also hide the fact that you have had a filling placed so that when you smile or speak, your teeth are natural-looking and white. Whether you are having metal fillings removed or white fillings placed for the first time, you will have a strong, white smile with no dull metallic hue associated with silver fillings.
Does Dr. Classi offer revisional dental fillings?
If you are unhappy with the results from dental fillings from another dentist, Dr. Classi can remove these fillings and replace them with white dental fillings. Dr. Classi removes unnatural-looking metal fillings and can help create a whiter smile with ceramic fillings. If a dental filling was placed incorrectly or causes discomfort, Dr. Classi can remove these fillings and correctly apply new white fillings.

Needed to get a scaling and root planing procedure done because Covid prevented me from having a cleaning for an extended period of time and a surface level cleaning wasn’t going to be able to remove the bacteria below the gum line. All of this was new to me and explained professionally and simply by the staff. Elena executed the procedure with care, expertise and overall just a pleasantness about her that made the process very easy to get through. The procedure was supposed to take place over 2 days, taking care of each half of the mouth over two separate days. After finishing the first half, Elena asked me if I just wanted to lock in and knock it all out in one shot which I was happy to do. From the happy greeting I get at the door from Randi who has helped coordinate all of my appointments around my busy schedule, to the work I’ve had done in the chair, the team here is bar none the best I’ve come across and deserves the highest praise I can relay. Grateful as always for you all!

Extremely happy I found Classi Smiles as my new dentist. Everyone at the office from the front desk staff to the doctors are true pros. The hygienist, Sam, is incredible and does a great job every time (even has me flossing more now!). Also, I did a teeth realignment to fix a gap and overbite that resurfaced after I stopped wearing my retainer following braces, Dr. Jenny & Chris had me in and out of my trays in under six months and could not be happier with the result. They did a fantastic job and constantly checked in to ensure everything was going smoothly. After I finished my realignment, I also got my teeth whitened which was performed perfectly and very reasonably priced. The front desk staff are extremely welcoming and diligent. Also, they are very responsive on any payment/insurance-related questions, which made each trip a breeze! I Had a full top set of upper implants done by different dentist which took over 5yrs to complete. When a full set of lowers was needed I had the anchors and a temporary set of teeth all done in one visit with Dr. Stein DDS MD. Installing the anchors and Dr Classi installing the perfectly fitting temporary set of teeth . I revived high quality care and it will all be completely done in 6 months! Instead of 5 years . I highly recommended this Dynamic Duo of Dentistry.

Installing the anchors and Dr Classi installing the perfectly fitting temporary set of teeth . I revived high quality care and it will all be completely done in 6 months! Instead of 5 years . Dr Classi and his staff are caring, professional and offers a different approach to dentistry. Having a lab on premise is a major advantage to the patient. The biggest advantage is the doctor himself who will come in pool n weekends and holidays if his patient needed him.

Doctor Classi is by far the most talented dentist I have ever gone to. His attention to detail is amazing. Dr Classi repaired years of sub par work and my teeth have never been in such great shape. I have now been going to him for years and could not recommend him more. His office is state of the art , his team is excellent and he is just a great person on top of being a super talented doctor.

I had a very tricky crown and veneer case (the two teeth on either side of my two big teeth), with different background colors of these teeth due to an old root canal and damage to my gums. It was a nightmare case and other (good and diligent) dentists tried to fix and could not. Dr Classi took great care and many steps to achieve the perfect result. He and his staff are kind, sweet, good people. .He's a real doll and I love all the gals who work at the front desk and his assistants. AND THE RESULTS - which most of us worry most about - ARE EXCELLENT. His lab tech came to the office to personally match the color of my teeth. I could not be happier. I am so thankful for his skill, patience and attention to detail. Worth every penny!!!!

I am a really chicken when it comes to dental work, but when I sit in Dr. Classi's chair, I am confident that it will not be a painful experience and there will be no surprises. I am very happy my daughter found him. I also enjoy working with his staff, a team of quality professionals.
